Don’t look at me like that; I haven’t posted in ages because I was busy all summer. Actually, that isn’t true. I just spent this week eating a 3 tonne bar of Cadbury’s fruit and nut and listening to Kodaline while hugging a ginormous, fluffy hedgehog. The reason why I haven’t posted is because I haven’t had anything to post about. That isn’t true either. I am lazy. That one is true.
When I began this post I was going to tell you about how uneventful my summer was, but I just thought of plenty of things I did. My favorite part of summer was the week I spent with my brother at a friend’s house, and we went fishing and boating and she has a Bengal Cat (my favorite breed of cat) and a lovely dopey spaniel. We had bonfires and played a 12 string guitar and watched movies and I ate so much cake. So much cake. Oh so much.
It was glorious to spend an entire week with your two best friends.
That is a perch I’m holding. A very small perch.
Oh yes, now is the time to tell you about Travel Fish so you don’t think I’m strange for holding a toy fish in my hand while out boating. Well, you may think I’m strange anyway, but not without due cause.
While in England this summer (on a different week) I perchanced upon a charity shop which had a basket of toys outside it selling for £1 each. One of those toys was that multicolored toy fish. It is actually this fish, and when I bought it, it still had the original TY red tag on it. (However, I am a firm believer in taking the tags off toys when you get them, no matter how much money they could make you in fifty years time and so now Travel Fish is thoroughly mine.)
Anyway, it turned out that, due to this fish’s flat and squishy nature, it could fit into virtually any travel bag you owned, and has proven countless times already to be an invaluable pillow when one is on their travels. So the Travel Fish came about. Travel Fish goes a lot of places with me if ever I need a head rest and need him to fit into small spaces.
Oh yeah, I got a haircut too. I’m liking the fringe.
September is here, and my summer is quickly disappearing. I have two weeks left and then I’m moving back out to university! I’m so awfully excited.
Until then, dear friends and lots of strangers, goodbye!
